BITS Pilani Launches Design School in Mumbai; Admissions will start from 26th February
A world-class fully residential permanent campus will house the BITS Design School, BITS School of Management and BITS Law School. It is being built on 63 acres in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani today launched BITS Design School (BITDES) in Mumbai. BITS Design School will launch a four-year, residential, Bachelor of Design (Hons) program in the academic year 2024-25, followed by a master’s degree program and a faculty development program for design teachers in the next two years.
Admissions for the founding class of the new design school will begin on 26 February 2024, which will be taught by international visiting faculty and a leading Indian faculty trained in the world’s top design schools. In the second year of the programme, students can choose from five streams offered for specialization – Physical Product Design, Digital Product Design (UI/UX), Human Centered Design, Experience Design and Visual Design.
In this new institute, graduates will be equipped with a set of transdisciplinary and in-demand competencies to take up C-suite positions as they advance in their careers. Meritorious students will receive generous scholarships to enhance and ensure access to the diversity of the group.
The BITS Design School curriculum has been co-designed and will be annually reviewed by Aalto University, Finland, ranked sixth globally in the field of art and design according to the QS ranking.
