NEET-PG-2023 Exam Postponement Hearing: Due to Missing Information, the Bench Decided to hear the Petition Today.
As per the official schedule, NEET PG is scheduled to be conducted on March 5, and the results will be available tentatively by March 31.
NEET-PG-2023 Exam: The Supreme Court on Friday heard a plea seeking postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Post Graduate (NEET-PG-2023). However, no decision was taken as the bench decided to hear the petition today (Monday) due to missing information.
NBE told the Supreme Court that around 2.09 lakh candidates have registered for NEET-PG-2023 exam. “No alternate date for conducting the examination may be available in the near future if it is postponed.”
The candidates are expecting the postponement of the exam as they claim that the candidates did not get enough time to prepare due to the change in eligibility, and also to reduce the gap between the exam and counseling dates. “Now the gap between exam and counseling is 5 months. Earlier it was one month. As a result we are getting less time. We are asking to push the exam date a little. It was carried forward last year,” senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan told the bench, according to Live Law.
However, the bench told the candidates that due to this postponement, the entire dynamics may change. “First you say you are not eligible. When you are made eligible, you say there is no exam time. Those who were preparing for months were told to wait for months. We also know that when we postpone…the agony of the candidates preparing…the whole dynamics changes,” the bench said.
The bench has passed the matter for the presence of Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhat on behalf of NBE.
As per the official schedule, NEET PG is scheduled to be conducted on March 5, and the results will be available tentatively by March 31.
