Business Analytics and AI: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad), a premier management institution in India, has announced admissions for the second cohort of its two-year blended MBA programs in ‘Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence’ (BPGP: BA & AI).
This two-year blended MBA program integrates management education with advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. It prepares working professionals and entrepreneurs for data-driven leadership roles.
Designed for working professionals and entrepreneurs, this program addresses the growing demand for business leaders who can interpret complex data, evaluate emerging technologies, and apply analytical thinking to strategic and operational decision-making.

The announcement was made during an event held on the IIM Ahmedabad campus. Present were IIM Ahmedabad Director Prof. Bharat Bhasker; Dean (Programs) Prof. Deeptesh Ghosh; Chairperson of the BPGP: Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence program, Prof. Anindya S. Chakrabarti; and Chairperson of the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of AI, Prof. Ankur Sinha.
Business leader, philanthropist, and Grammy Award-winning musician Chandrika Tandon, an alumna of IIMA’s 1975 PGP batch, participated in the event virtually. She has established the ‘Krishnamurthy Tandon School of AI’ at IIMA through a significant endowment.
This program reaffirms IIMA’s commitment to evolving management education in line with changing business needs, while upholding the core strengths for which the institute is renowned, such as academic rigour, a strong emphasis on research, and practical relevance.
Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence program (BA & AI)
Blended Post Graduate Programme in Management (BPGP): Commenting on the announcement of the second batch of the Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence program (BA & AI), Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, said, “One of the most important things we teach at IIM Ahmedabad is how to thoroughly examine a problem before arriving at any decision.”
“In today’s landscape, managers have access to numerous advanced analytical tools; however, they must also understand the underlying assumptions and limitations of the results these tools yield. Through the second batch of this program, we aim to further strengthen the synergy between technical proficiency, independent thinking, and managerial responsibility among future business leaders.”
I hope this program inspires managers to engage in critical thinking and helps them devise solutions that create value for the economy and society. This program will position IIMA at the forefront of management education, fostering forward-thinking and relevant managers, leaders, and institution builders.”
Discussing the program, Prof. Anindya S. Chakrabarti, Chairperson of the BPGP: BA & AI program at IIMA, said, “We have designed the curriculum to integrate mathematical modeling, programming, and machine learning with core management disciplines such as finance and strategy.
Through case study discussions, capstone assignments, and action-learning projects, participants will learn to rigorously examine analytical insights, understand their practical implications, and apply this knowledge to complex business decisions.”
Despite some gaps in preparedness, Indian companies are increasingly adopting and scaling AI. Businesses require managers who can evaluate evidence, weigh opportunities against risks, and ensure meaningful returns on investment. IIMA’s ‘Blended MBA in Business Analytics and AI’ addresses this need across sectors such as finance, marketing, operations, supply chain, logistics, legal, IT, and HR.

Spanning two years and six terms, the program is designed specifically for working professionals. The program comprises live, direct-to-device classes alongside three on-campus modules. Subjects such as management, statistics, analytical modelling, machine learning, and advanced AI are taught through case studies, simulations, capstone projects, and action-learning initiatives.
It offers a range of elective subjects, including predictive and prescriptive analytics, product management, finance and risk management, human-AI collaboration and change management, AI ethics, policy and regulation, supply chain digitisation, generative AI, and agentic AI. IIMA’s ‘Case Method’ integrates analytical learning with business, organisational, and ethical considerations.
Throughout the program, participants will have remote access to IIMA’s academic and research resources, including the Vikram Sarabhai Library, computing infrastructure, and an extensive collection of databases.
The blended MBA program in Business Analytics and AI offers an exit option after the first year, leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics and AI. Participants who complete the full two-year MBA program will become part of IIMA’s global alumni network.
