NEET UG Re test: With just one day remaining before the NEET UG Re-test on June 21, the Central Government has initiated the most extensive security and logistical arrangements ever undertaken for a national entrance exam.
Following the cancellation of the May 3 exam due to allegations of paper leaks and irregularities, the government has geared up to tackle the crisis. To ensure the re-test proceeds without a hitch, the government has mobilised various ministries, the National Testing Agency (NTA), security agencies, cybercrime units, and transport authorities to work in tandem.

At the heart of this entire process lies a robust security framework. The objective is to safeguard every stage of the examination process, from the drafting and printing of question papers to their transportation, storage, and distribution. Officials have held multiple review meetings over the past few weeks to assess preparedness and address the loopholes that led to the earlier controversy.
One of the most significant changes concerns the transportation of question papers. NTA chief Abhishek Singh indicated that the transportation plan has been revamped with enhanced security protocols. Additionally, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is being enlisted to transport sensitive exam materials across the country.
Measures such as deploying extra security guards, implementing stringent security protocols, and enforcing rigorous monitoring are being adopted to minimise the risk of tampering during transit. Speaking to the media this week, the NTA Director General noted that, beyond security, utilising the IAF for transportation would also save time, given that the exam is being reconducted within a span of approximately 40 days.
Security measures have also been extended to the personnel involved in the preparation of the examination. According to reports, paper setters, moderators, and translators have been moved to secure locations and subjected to restrictions on communication to ensure that no unauthorised information leaks out before the examination.
