NEET UG Application: Avoid These Common Mistakes
These are some common mistakes students make when applying for NEET UG 2026:
1. Don’t wait for the deadline: The online submission date for the NEET UG application form is available on the website between February 8, 2026, and March 8, 2026. Candidates can also pay the fees until 11:50 pm on March 8, 2026.
2. Corrections to the NEET application form can be made between March 10 and March 12: however, it is advised that students fill out the application correctly and carefully the first time so they don’t have to make changes to the fields later. Sometimes, even after months of hard work, students face problems due to a small error in the application form, which can affect their eligibility and the subsequent counselling process.
3. The most common mistakes are in personal details such as name, date of birth, parents’ names, and gender. Often, students don’t cross-check the information they fill in the application form with their Class 10 marksheet or identity card, which causes problems during document verification later. It is recommended that you verify all details with official documents before filling out the form.
4. Choosing your category and domicile is crucial in the NEET application process. Many students choose OBC-NCL, EWS, or other reservation categories without fully understanding the eligibility criteria or uploading incorrect certificates. This can have a direct impact on counselling and seat allotment. Category selection should be made after reviewing the official information bulletin, and not based on advice from friends or social media.
