The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has announced the exam syllabus and exam pattern on the official website. The RPSC is about to conduct the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services 2026. This exam will be conducted in two phases: Prelims and Mains.
All the young aspirants preparing for this government exam must be waiting for the detailed syllabus. Here, in this blog, we will discuss the exam pattern and the syllabus of the exam.
RPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Firstly, let’s see the syllabus of the Preliminary Exam. The Prelims exam consists of Objective questions. There are 150 questions, and the exam duration given is 3 hours. The question paper carries 200 marks. This Preliminary exam is a screening test for selecting candidates for the second phase of examination. There is negative marking in the Prelims exam. Each incorrect answer deducts 1/3rd mark.
The syllabus for Prelims includes History of India, History and Culture of Rajasthan, Geography, Economics and Polity, Science and technology, Current Affairs and Reasoning.
Mains Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The Mains Examination is a written exam. It’s a descriptive exam that checks the candidate’s thorough knowledge and writing skills. This exam includes detailed knowledge in the History of India and the History of Rajasthan, the Governance and the Economy.
The syllabus for the Mains examination includes History of Rajasthan, the art and culture of the state, Indian History and Geography, Polity, Science and technology, and Current Affairs.
There is a Language Paper too. The Language Paper is Hindi/English. The candidate can choose either of the language papers. It includes test comprehension and essay writing. Additionally, there is an optional paper too. There are some options for optional papers. Candidates can choose whichever optional paper they want to attempt. The optional papers include Political Science, Public administration and Geography and a few more.
