US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the US could end a war with Iran in just a few weeks. He indicated that an exit from the conflict, which has affected global energy markets, could happen soon.
Speaking with reporters in the Oval Office, US President Donald Trump stated, “We will be getting out of there very soon.” He added that this exit could happen “within two weeks, maybe two weeks, or perhaps three weeks.”
These remarks are his most explicit comments to date, suggesting that Washington is preparing to bring an end to this month-long conflict. Trump also stated that no agreement with Tehran is necessary to resolve this conflict. “Iran does not need to make a deal – no,” he said. “No, they do not need to make a deal with me.” Instead, he noted that the objective is to ensure that Iran no longer possesses the capability to rapidly develop nuclear weapons.
