NEET- PG Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the deadline for filling choices for the first round of NEET PG counselling for the 2025 academic year until further notice, giving medical aspirants additional time to decide on their preferred colleges and courses. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday directed the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to disclose its policy for publishing answer keys for the NEET-PG exams. A bench of Justices P.S. Narasimha and Vipul Pancholi asked the NBE’s counsel to file an affidavit clarifying its stand on the matter.

The announcement, released on the MCC’s official website, stated that candidates should regularly check for updates. According to the tentative schedule released earlier, the choice filling and locking dates for 50 percent All India Quota (AIQ), 100 percent deemed/central universities, and AFMS institutes were originally scheduled from October 28 to November 5, 2025.

The Supreme Court was hearing petitions raising various issues related to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate examinations, with a particular focus on the disclosure of answer keys for transparency. During the hearing, the NBE lawyer argued that these petitions were being filed by coaching institutes seeking access to the answer keys of question papers, arguing that this would impact the quality of the examination.

Vishwanathan issued notices to the Centre and the National Board of Medical Examinations on petitions seeking the publication of the NEET-PG 2025 answer keys. Earlier, on April 29, the apex court had directed the publication of raw scores, answer keys, and normalisation formulas for transparency. Previously, candidates did not have access to the answer keys or raw score details, raising concerns about the fairness of the normalisation process.
