NEET PG Counselling 2025: The Supreme Court is set to hear petitions related to the NEET PG 2025 counselling process on September 19. The case, which was earlier scheduled for September 12, was postponed by two weeks. A bench comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice KV Viswanathan will preside over the hearing. The petitions have been filed by NEET PG candidates and the United Doctors Front (UDF), raising concerns about transparency in the examination process.
NEET PG Counselling 2025: Candidates Raise Concerns Over Answer Key
Following a Supreme Court directive, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) released the NEET PG answer key for the first time. However, candidates objected to the format used, as it included only question IDs and not the full questions. According to the petitioners, this prevents candidates from checking the accuracy of their answers and identifying any discrepancies in the evaluation.
They have asked the court to direct the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) (An Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India) to adopt a more transparent approach. In earlier proceedings, the petitioners urged the court to ensure a fair and accountable examination process. NBEMS, in its response, opposed the release of the full question paper, citing concerns about potential misuse of the exam content.
All India Counselling Remains on Hold
Due to ongoing legal proceedings, the NEET PG counselling 2025 process has been postponed. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has not yet announced dates for the All India Quota counselling, which covers 50% of seats in MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses. In contrast, some states, including Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, have already started their state quota counselling registration.
