JEE Main Registration 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially published the complete examination schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026.

According to the official announcement, Session 1 of JEE Main 2026 is scheduled to take place from January 21 to January 30, 2026, while Session 2 is scheduled to occur from April 1 to April 10, 2026. It is expected that registration for the January session will start in October 2025, followed by the registration period for the April session, which will open in late January 2026, after the declaration of Session 1 JEE Main 2026results.

The JEE Main serves as India’s national-level entrance examination for entry into top engineering colleges and universities, which encompass the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented various significant initiatives aimed at enhancing accessibility, including the expansion of examination centres both within India and internationally, as well as integrating the registration process with Aadhaar verification to streamline candidate authentication.

JEE Main 2026: Paper 1 and Paper 2

In 2026, Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) will consist of 90 questions covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, of which candidates must attempt 75 questions. Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Planning) will each be carry 400 marks and will assess aptitude, mathematics, and either drawing or planning-related skills. Candidates are strongly encouraged to ensure that all personal information aligns with their Aadhaar details to prevent any discrepancies during the verification process. The admit cards for both sessions are anticipated to be issued three days before the examination.
