The JEE Advanced exam will be held in two sessions on the same day: Paper 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Appearance in both papers is mandatory; candidates who miss any paper will not be included in the merit list.

The entire application process will be online through the official portal jeeadv.ac.in. Admit cards will be available for download from May 11 to May 17, 2026. Candidates must bring a printed copy of their hall ticket and a valid photo ID to the exam center, soft copies will not be accepted.

JEE Advanced 2026: Eligible to Register for JEE Advanced
Only candidates ranked in the top 250,000 in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE/BTech), regardless of their category, are eligible to register for JEE Advanced. Additionally, candidates can appear for JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in consecutive years, and must first appear for the Class 12 exam in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects. Those who have previously secured admission to an IIT are not eligible.
IIT Roorkee will release candidate response sheets on May 21st, followed by a provisional answer key on May 25th. Candidates can raise objections between May 25 and 26, after which the final answer key will be released on June 1, 2026.
The results will be declared on June 1, 2026, at 10 am, and JoSAA counselling for IIT admissions will begin the following day, June 2. While the syllabus, which includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the Class 11–12 level, will remain the same, the marking scheme, mark distribution, and number of questions will be disclosed to candidates only on the exam day, giving the test a unique identity.
The JEE Main session ends on April 29, so candidates will only have approximately five and a half weeks to prepare for the JEE Advanced before the May 17 exam.
