IIM Indore PGP 2026-28 Admission Criteria Released; Weightage for Class 12th Marks and PI Performance Increased

As per the policy, applicants must apply for the CAT 2025 exam and meet the minimum sectional and overall percentile cut-offs to qualify for consideration.

IIM Indore (Madhya Pradesh) has announced the admission criteria for its flagship two-year Postgraduate Program (PGP) for the academic year 2026-28. The renowned B-school will follow a three-stage selection process based on Common Admission Test 2025 (CAT 2025) scores, academic performance in Classes 10 and 12, work experience, and performance in a personal interview (PI).

IIM Indore Minimum Overall Cut-off

For General and EWS category candidates, the minimum overall cut-off is set at the 90th percentile, with an 80th percentile required in each section. For NC-OBC candidates, the overall cut-off is set at the 80th percentile. Conversely, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates must score 60, 45, and 45 percentiles, respectively, to be considered qualified.

During the shortlisting process, the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) places special emphasis on Class 12 academic performance, which is given a 25 percent weightage, while Class 10 performance is given a 10 percent weightage.

CAT sectional scores together carry a 55 percent weighting in the composite score used for shortlisting. Work experience carries a weighting of three percent, while the diversity factor adds seven more points.

Candidates shortlisted for interviews will be notified in January 2026. Interviews will be held offline in seven cities – Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Mumbai. A statement from IIM Indore said that interviews may also be conducted online depending on the circumstances. For final selection, the personal interview becomes the most important component, carrying a 45 percent weighting in the final composite score.

CAT sectional scores together account for 40 percent, while Class 10 and 12 marks each account for 5 percent. A diversity factor of 5 marks is also included at this stage.
