IIT-Mandi Launches Certificate Courses in Data Science & Machine Learning

In partnership with the National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC), the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi (IIT-Mandi) has introduced a six-month certificate programme and a nine-month advance certificate programme in the fields of data science and machine learning. The first week of November will see the start of the programme.

IIT-Mandi academic members will teach the course through live-streamed sessions. An eligibility exam that will be held on October 15 and 16 will be used to identify the qualified applicants. IIT Mandi and NSDC shall jointly award the programme certificate upon course completion. Details about the programmes are available to candidates at futureacad.com/iit-mandi.

The course will enable students to have a solid foundation in data science and to specialise in machine learning using Python for making decisions based on data. After completing the programme, students might look for opportunities as data scientists, business analysts, business intelligence specialists, and advisors on cutting-edge skills.

It intends to educate the students on all the essential and advanced abilities in the tools and technologies used in the domains of data science, machine learning, deep learning, and image processing. This live online certification course will be instructed by academics from IIT Mandi.

The main goals of the programme are to engage in peer-to-peer learning, enlarge one’s professional network, gain experience from live online sessions with IIT Mandi faculty and industry experts, receive industry-recognized certification in data science and business intelligence, receive career guidance and placement assistance, receive one-on-one student mentoring, and advance one’s career.

Speaking about the new courses, Prof. Tushar Jain, Head, Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), said, “The certificate programs being launched by IIT Mandi are designed in such a way as to impart skills in demand by industries worldwide. In this era of skill development initiated by other IITs, we have adopted a new model, where students or working professionals will get a unique opportunity to learn cutting-edge concepts in data science and machine learning similar to our B.Tech students at IIT Mandi. This would be highly beneficial to the registered students in these programs to upgrade their skills as per the growing demands of industries.”
