In a statement issued by its foreign ministry, Beijing said: “China expresses regret over India’s military action this morning and is concerned about the current developments. China opposes all forms of terrorism. We call on both India and Pakistan to give priority to peace and stability, maintain calm and restraint, and refrain from taking actions that may further complicate the situation.”
It further said, “China finds India’s military operation this morning regrettable… India and Pakistan are and will always be each other’s neighbours. They are also both neighbours of China.”
The statement came hours after the Indian armed forces carried out coordinated missile strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed 26 lives.
