Besides, there will be one-way traffic on pontoon bridges to ease movement, it is learnt. Even the akhadas will be allowed entry and exit based on the specific slots allotted to them. “First of all, we have prepared the zonal arrangement, according to which those coming from Arail side should bathe at Arail Ghat and those coming from Jhusi side should bathe at Jhusi Ghat,” Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vaibhav Krishna said. Vehicular traffic will be prohibited in the Kumbh area from January 27 to January 30. Also, no VIP protocol will be followed on these days,” he added.

As sadhus from 13 akhadas will also take shahi or amrit snan on January 29, special entry and exit routes have been set for them in the Sangam area. Additional security personnel have also been deployed to ensure that the entry or exit routes are followed properly.

On the request of the state government, the railways have also made a special plan for the movement of trains so that there is no congestion at railway stations. Officials said that there is a plan to run 150 trains for Mauni Amavasya at nine railway stations in Prayagraj.
