All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced its collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) to provide internship opportunities and build entrepreneurial skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Students can approach Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) State or Divisional Offices for internship opportunities. Selected students will get a chance to work in different departments of their interest. The internship opportunities with KVIC will also be uploaded on the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) internship portal, an official statement said.

Under this programme, students are given a stipend of Rs 5,000 per month during the internship period.

AICTE said that KVIC is also planning to launch a scholarship program for students to undertake research projects on several of its schemes.

Professor Anil D Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman, AICTE said: “I am happy to announce that our partnership with KVIC will benefit our students. KVIC draws inspiration from Gandhi ji. We talk about Atmanirbhar Bharat and it will become truly self-reliant when all villages, talukas, districts and states will become self-sufficient.

That’s why Gandhiji always talked about Gram Swaraj. Today India is a huge country in the ITES industry. Now is the time to discuss how we can help villages through ITeS and make them more self-reliant and promote entrepreneurship.”

KVIC President Vinay Kumar Saxena said that the internship program will help the students to gain valuable experience through challenging projects. “KVIC has a lot of platforms through which students can connect. I would urge all the faculty members and students to work towards the upliftment of the country through several schemes being run by KVIC across the country.

KVIC has always taken challenging initiatives. I would urge the students to not think too much about being a job taker but believe in becoming a job creator through their entrepreneurial skills.
