US President Donald Trump Nominates Indian American Kash Patel as FBI Director

US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday, November 30, 2024, the nomination of his trusted advisor Kash Patel for the powerful position of Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thereby appointing him as the highest-ranking Indian American in his forthcoming administration.

“I am proud to announce that Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel has been appointed as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Mr. Kash Patel is an exceptional attorney, investigator, and a staunch advocate for the principles of ‘America First.’  Throughout his career, Kash has dedicated himself to uncovering corruption, upholding justice, and safeguarding the American people, as stated by US President Mr. Donald Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Elected President Mr. Trump said Mr Kash Patel played a key role in exposing the “Russia, Russia, Russia hoax”, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution. Mr Patel, 44, served as Chief of Staff to the Acting United States Secretary of Defense in the final few weeks of the Trump administration in 2017.

Mr. Kash Patel performed exceptionally well during my First Term, holding the positions of Chief of Staff at the Department of Defence, Deputy Director of National Intelligence and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. Additionally, Mr. Kash has participated in more than 60 jury trials.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is committed to addressing the growing crime crisis in the United States, dismantling migrant criminal organizations, and tackling the heinous issues of human and drug trafficking along the border.
