Bhavish Aggarwal-led Ola Electric Mobility Ltd today, December 27, laid off two people from the key management level. The resignations come soon after the electric two-wheeler maker announced layoffs amid a decline in market share, customer complaints and a drop-in share price.
Ola Electric Mobility in a regulatory filing today said that Chief Marketing Officer Anshul Khandelwal and Chief Technology and Product Officer Suvonil Chatterjee have resigned with effect from December 27, 2024.
Citing the reasons behind the resignation of Khandelwal and Chatterjee, the company said they have resigned “due to personal reasons”.
The company stated that Anshul Khandelwal and Suvonil Chatterjee have resigned “for personal reasons,” providing this as the reason behind their resigned.

Anshul Khandelwal said in his resignation letter that he has resigned due to personal reasons.
“It has been a remarkable journey, and I am thankful for the opportunities to be a part of Ola’s visionary goals. However, due to personal reasons, I request to be relieved of my responsibilities effective immediately,” he said.
“I would like to thank everyone for the support and trust they have extended me during my time at Ola Electric.
Chatterjee is seen as the second most influential person at the EV manufacturing firm, the first being founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal. In his resignation letter, Chatterjee thanked Ola and Aggarwal for their support during his journey at the company.
“Today, I am formally sending my resignation with effect from December 27, 2024. It has been a honor to be a part of this remarkable journey. I would like to thank everyone at Ola for their support and kindness. Best wishes to you, Bhavish, and the entire Ola family,” Chatterjee wrote in the resignation letter.
Former design lead at Flipkart, Chatterjee was the CTPO of Ola Electric since 2021. He was responsible for building Ola CrewTrim and Ola Maps. A graduate from BITS Pilani, Chatterjee first started working with Aggarwal in 2017 as the design head of Ola’s core cab business. In 2021, Suvonil was promoted to the role of chief product officer and in 2022, he became the chief technology and product officer, Times Of India reported.
