NEET PG 2024: Almost 13 days after the cancellation of NEET PG 2024 exam, the revised exam date of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Post Graduate (NEET PG) has been announced today. The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will now conduct the NEET PG exam on August 11. NEET PG 2024 will be conducted in two shifts.
Amid allegations of irregularities in recent competitive exams, NBEMS postponed the exam scheduled for June 23 as a ‘precautionary measure’. Every year around two lakh MBBS graduates appear for NEET PG for around 52,000 postgraduate seats across the country.
According to the board, the exam was canceled as the ministry wanted to check the robustness of the exam process and also ensure that there were no vulnerabilities in the process.
NBE chief Dr Abhijat Sheth also said that the ministry wants to ensure that mischievous elements do not take undue advantage of the weakness of NEET PG applicants at a time when Indian students are scared due to the cancellation of NTA exams.
NEET PG 2024 was earlier scheduled to be held on March 3, then it was postponed to July 7. However, due to the general elections, the NEET PG exam date was extended to June 23.
The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in NEET PG 2024 will remain the same – August 15, 2024.
Meanwhile, the NMC has also introduced “Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023”, which states that all rounds of NEET PG counseling for each seat will be conducted through online mode by the state or central counseling authorities.
