Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Nagpur, Program to Meet RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

During his visit, PM Modi will pay tribute to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at the Smriti Mandir in Reshimbagh on his birth anniversary.

Prime Minister Modi’s Nagpur visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur on Sunday, which will be his first public appearance since the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22 last year and their first joint event at the RSS headquarters.

During his visit, PM Modi will pay tribute to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at the Smriti Mandir in Reshimbagh on his birth anniversary. This is the first time a sitting Prime Minister will visit the Sangh headquarters, where he will also lay the foundation stone for the expansion of a hospital.

The meeting comes amid speculation of tensions between the Sangh and the BJP leadership. Political observers are considering the interaction as significant due to its timing, place and purpose.

This comes at a time when the BJP is preparing to elect a new national president in early April, with the party’s national council meeting scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on April 18 to approve the new leadership. Given the influence of the RSS in the selection of the BJP chief, the meeting in Nagpur, where the Sangh has its headquarters and where the event honours Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar, revered as ‘Guruji’ by RSS volunteers, assumes even greater significance.
