President Droupadi Murmu will Honor 75 Teachers with the National Teacher Award 2023

India annually celebrates 5 September as National Teachers’ Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

President Droupadi Murmu is all set to confer National Teacher Award 2023 to 75 deserving teachers who have excelled in their field. The prestigious event will take place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, as announced by the Union Education Ministry on September 5, 2023.

India annually celebrates 5 September as National Teachers’ Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The objective of the National Teacher Awards is to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contribution of teachers across the country. It honors teachers who have not only enhanced the quality of education but have also enriched the lives of their students through unwavering dedication.

The enrollment process was conducted online to encourage maximum public participation (Jan Bhagidari), to acknowledge innovative teaching methods, research, community engagement and pioneering educational work. The Union Education Minister has constituted three separate independent national juries consisting of eminent persons for the selection of these outstanding teachers.

Award winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Each National Teacher Award recipient will be awarded a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, and a silver medal. Additionally, the award winners will get a unique opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister.

About National Teacher Award

The Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education has been organizing a national level program every year on Teachers’ Day. The program serves as a platform to confer national awards on the most eminent teachers of the country, selected through a rigorous and transparent selection process.

Top Central Universities in India: Ranking List of Top 10 Central Universities in India.

This year, the National Award to Teachers will be extended to teachers from the Department of Higher Education and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. This extension will recognize and honor a total of 50 school teachers, 13 teachers of higher education and 12 teachers from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
