PM-Narendra Modi Russia visit update: PM Modi concluded his Russia visit and has now left for Austria. Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin honored PM Narendra Modi with the country’s highest civilian award, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. During the conversation, PM-Narendra Modi said, “I am confident that our relations will become stronger in the coming years.”

Earlier, during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested for the release of Indian soldiers serving in the Russian Army amid the Ukraine conflict.
In his address to the Indian diaspora in Moscow, PM Modi called Russia a “trusted friend” who has always been “India’s partner in joys and sorrows”. PM Modi also mentioned the famous Hindi song ‘Sar Pe Lal Topi Rusi’ in his speech, crediting iconic actors Raj Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty for strengthening ties between the two countries.
PM Modi reached Moscow for his two-day visit to Russia. PM Modi’s visit to Russia is the first after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
