Delhi Election 2025 Results: Congress Failed to Open Its Account in Delhi for the Third Time, But it Saw a Ray of Hope in AAP’s Defeat

Delhi Election 2025 Results: The Congress not only lost the Delhi elections badly but also failed to open its account for the third time in the capital, where it ruled for 15 years before the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came to power in 2013. But the one silver lining in this humiliating defeat for the Congress was that the AAP lost the elections and its vote share increased.

In the 70-member assembly, the BJP has won 13 seats and is leading in 34 more constituencies. According to Election Commission data till 2:39 pm, the AAP, which won 67 seats in 2015 and 62 in 2020, has won 10 seats and is leading in 13.

Congress candidate from New Delhi seat Sandeep Dikshit congratulated BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma for his “great victory” after he defeated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. Dikshit accepted responsibility for losing the New Delhi seat and said people want change.

Congress leader and Kalkaji candidate Alka Lamba said that the people of Delhi will not forgive those responsible for the wrongdoings in the city.”I don’t know who is gaining and who is suffering; those who have harmed Delhi- it is their loss,” she said.
