PM Narendra Modi Ji today (June 19) inaugurated the new campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir, Bihar. Today is an important milestone for our education sector as the new campus of Nalanda University was officially opened at 10:30 am in Rajgir. Nalanda has a deep connection with our glorious past. This university will definitely go a long way in meeting the educational needs of the youth,” the PM said in an official post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The recently constructed campus consists of two academic buildings, each with 40 classrooms, providing a combined seating capacity of approximately 1,900. Additionally, there are two auditoriums, each capable of accommodating 300 persons. It also has a student hostel with a capacity of about 550 students. Other facilities such as an international centre, an amphitheater that can accommodate 2,000 persons, a faculty club and a sports complex etc. are also available.
Interim Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Professor Abhay Kumar Singh started the program by facilitating the PM. The inauguration ceremony will reportedly be attended by many dignitaries including heads of missions from 17 countries. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji this morning also visited the ruins of Nalanda, which were declared a UN heritage site in 2016.
