PM Modi on Operation Sindoor: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (August 10, 2025) said that Pakistan was “forced to kneel” in a matter of hours during Operation Sindoor, which demonstrated India’s capabilities. His remarks came a day after Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh announced that the IAF had shot down six Pakistani aircraft during the operation.
The Prime Minister was speaking after inaugurating key transport infrastructure projects in Bengaluru, including the much-awaited Yellow Line of the city’s Namma Metro, which connects R.V. Road station to Bommasandra station.
“This is my first visit to Bengaluru after Operation Sindoor,” the Prime Minister said. “The Indian Army was able to penetrate several kilometres [into Pakistani territory] across the border. The world has seen our ability to bring Pakistan to its knees in a matter of hours.” Praising the role of Indian technology and Make in India initiative in this success, he said that the youth of Bengaluru and Karnataka had made a significant contribution in Operation Sindoor.
Delivering the 16th Air Chief Marshal L.M. Katre Memorial Lecture in Bengaluru on Saturday, Air Chief Marshal Singh had said that at least five fighter aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force were shot down along with a larger aircraft, which was either an electronics-intelligence aircraft or an airborne early warning aircraft.
