Parakram Diwas: India will celebrate the 127th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23, the day is also known as Parakram Diwas. He is remembered for leading the Indian National Army (INA) and inspiring Indians to fight against British colonial rule.
Netaji was the pioneer and greatest leader of India’s freedom movement. During the Second World War, Netaji formed the Azad Hind Fauj with the help of Japan to fight against the British. The slogan “Jai Hind” given by him has become the national slogan of India. The slogan “Tum Mujhe Khoon do Main Tumhe Azadi Dunga” was also his, which became very popular at that time.
Born in Cuttack, Odisha in 1897, Netaji is known as one of the most influential leaders of India’s freedom movement. He helped the country gain independence with his exceptional leadership skills, bravery and courage. He remains a source of inspiration for generations because of his deep love for the nation and his tireless efforts for equality and justice.
Almost 5 months after Netaji’s disappearance, Netaji Jayanti was celebrated in Rangoon. It is traditionally celebrated across India. There is an official holiday on this day in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tripura, Assam and Odisha. The Government of India pays tribute to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on this day. For the first time in 2021, on the 124th birth anniversary of Netaji, he was celebrated as Parakram Diwas.
