Mahaparinirvan Diwas: on Friday PM Modi remembered Babasaheb on his ‘Mahaparinirvan Diwas’. He said that Babasaheb is the architect of the Constitution and a symbol of social justice. The fight for equality of society is relatable to all. Mahaparinirvan Diwas is observed every year on 6 December as the death anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, one of India’s greatest leaders and social reformers.
It is a day to remember and reflect on the life and work of the man who played a key role in shaping modern India. Dr. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, was an advocate of equality, justice and human rights. His efforts to fight caste-based discrimination and uplift marginalised communities left an indelible mark on Indian society.
Mahaparinirvan Diwas in 2024 holds special significance as millions of people in India and across the world come together to pay tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s vision and ideals. Everyone from Dalit communities to scholars and leaders draw on his teachings, which continue to inspire the fight for equality and justice.
