Kangana Ranaut Will Contest Lok Sabha Elections From Mandi

Popular Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been declared the Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its 5th candidate list for the upcoming elections.

Apart from Ranaut, BJP finalized 111 candidates in the 5th Lok Sabha candidate list. Other names in the list are Naveen Jindal, Maneka Gandhi etc.

Apart from Kangana Ranaut, Arun Govil, best known for his role in Ramayan, was also highlighted as a leading figure in the entertainment sector. Arun Govil will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Meerut Lok Sabha seat.

Top Names in BJP’s 5th Candidate List:

Apart from Arun Govil and Kangana Ranaut, many big names were included in this list. The saffron party has retained the ticket for sitting MP Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. However, his son Varun Gandhi was replaced by Jitin Prasada in Pilibhit by the BJP. Sita Soren will contest general elections from Dumka (Jharkhand). Kerala BJP president K Surendra will contest from Wayanad, a seat won by sitting MP and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Union ministers RK Singh and Nityanand Rai have also been fielded from their current seats, while the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh has announced the names of 13 more candidates.

Mandi Lok Sabha seat of Himachal Pradesh:

Himachal Pradesh Congress chief Pratibha Singh is currently the MP from Mandi Lok Sabha constituency. Singh won the last Lok Sabha by-election from Mandi in 2021 after the death of BJP’s Ram Swaroop, who had won the 2019 general election from Mandi.
