New Delhi: Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren, minister for school education, literacy, and registration, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in New Delhi on Friday. He was 62. “With great sadness, I inform you all that my father is no more with us,” his son wrote on Soren’s @xhandle.
Soren suffered severe brain damage and a blood clot after slipping in the bathroom and was rushed to Delhi’s Apollo Hospital for emergency treatment on August 2. Since then, he was on life support. A multi-disciplinary team of senior experts was closely monitoring his condition and providing intensive care.
A grassroots leader and a prominent figure of the JMM, Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren was immensely popular among the tribal community and party members. His unflinching commitment to public service will always be remembered.
