IGNOU Best Innovation Award 2024: How this Award Aims to Benefit Young Innovators, get Application Details

IGNOU Best Innovation Award: Are you a student of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)? Have you come up with a revolutionary innovation that addressed an issue faced by individuals or society? If yes, you may be close to winning the Best Innovation Award 2024-an honour conferred by IGNOU that seeks to identify and support students who have the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.

This is the sixth term award given by IGNOU. In this article we will look at how this award will be beneficial for young innovators, who is eligible to apply, and about the application process.

IGNOU Best Innovation Award 2024: What are the subject areas of the award?

In total, there are 16 subject areas based on which applicants will be awarded. The subject areas described by IGNOU are as follows:

1. Health Care and Biomedical Devices
2. Agriculture and Rural Development
3. Food Processing and Packaging
4. Smart Transport and Traffic Management
5. Renewable and Affordable Energy and Alternate Fuel
6. Clean and Potable Water and Water Management
7. Waste Management and Disposal
8. Technology-Based Social Innovations
9. E-commerce and Business Management
10. Robotics and Drones including AI and ML
11. Tour and Travel Management
12. Social and Environmental Issues
13. Smart City and Urban Development
14. Innovation in the Education Sector
15. Innovation to Assist the Persons with Disability
16. Any other emerging area of ​​innovation and startup opportunity

IGNOU Best Innovation Award 2024: Who is eligible to apply?

To be eligible for the award, the applicant must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

+The applicant must be a genuine and registered student of IGNOU.

+ He must develop and implement an innovative product, process or service as a solution to a problem/challenge faced by individuals or society in any field, preferably from the subject areas mentioned above.

How will this award be beneficial for innovators?

Students receiving the Best Innovation Award 2024 will get the opportunity to get the following benefits:

+ Innovative students will be recognized at the national level.

+ The best three innovators will receive the Best Innovation Award along with a certificate, trophy and cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.

+ The selected potential innovators will get an opportunity to interact with other innovators and learn from their experiences.

IGNOU said that other potential innovators from among the applicants of the Best Innovation Award Scheme will be provided guidance and support to further improve their innovation and take it to the next level.

Young innovators will also get a chance to participate in competitions organized by the Ministry and other prestigious institutions.

It is pertinent to mention here that the students selected for the Best Innovation Award-2024 will be invited to the IGNOU Headquarters in Delhi to receive the award.

How should you apply ?

Candidates willing to apply for IGNOU ‘Best Innovation Award 2024’ can follow the steps given below to submit their applications.

Download the application form.  

Fill the application form in MS Word and submit it along with supporting documents via email to ncide@ignou.ac.in.

Applicants should also attach a 5-10-minute video clip on the development and functioning of their innovation. They should attach relevant photographs about their innovation.
