Happy Republic Day 2024: India is celebrating its 75th Republic Day (Republic Day) on January 26. Every year residents of the country celebrate this occasion with grandeur and enthusiasm. The ceremony features a spectacular military and cultural spectacle.

This day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26 January 1950. The Constitution of India was adopted on November 26, 1949 with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee. This date is celebrated as the Constitution Day of India.

Since the Constitution came into force on January 26, 1950, India celebrates Republic Day as a national holiday every year to commemorate this event. After this, India was declared a republic and became a sovereign state.

The capital New Delhi hosts the Republic Day celebrations, starting from Raisina Hill near Rashtrapati Bhavan, following the ceremonial route, passing through India Gate and ending at the iconic Red Fort. The theme of the tableau in the Republic Day Parade 2024 is India-Mother of Democracy.
