Andhra-Pradesh: Mr. Nazeer noted that the State had three Central Universities, 20 autonomous institutions, 25 State universities, four deemed universities, and five private universities while speaking at a celebration for the Andhra Loyola College’s (ALC) platinum jubilee.
He claimed that the State government had founded numerous new institutions of higher learning, including the Dr. YSR Architecture and Fine Arts University in Kadapa, the Cluster University in Kurnool, the JNTU-Gurajada in Vizianagaram, the Andhra Kesari University in Ongole, and the Tribal Engineering College in Kurupam. In addition, 17 additional medical colleges will join the existing 11 medical colleges soon, ensuring that all societal groups can access medical education.
The Central government had started taking action to build educational institutions of national importance in the State after bifurcation, in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014’s requirements. Among them were the already operational IIT-Tirupati, NIT-Tadepalligudem, IIM-Visakhapatnam, IISER-Tirupati, Central University in Anantapur, IIPE-Visakhapatnam, and IIIT in Kurnool. He advised the pupils to take full advantage of the new State-created facilities.
He referred to the college’s platinum jubilee year as a significant milestone for the institution, which has produced notable graduates like former Andhra-Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and current Mizoram Governor K. Hari Babu, among others.
On the college grounds, Mr. Nazeer later inaugurated two academic buildings.
