Vice Chairman of AICTE: Dr. Abhay Jere who was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) on 10th February took charge at AICTE Headquarters, Delhi on 14th February.
Dr. Abhay Jere was the Chief Innovation Officer in the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Dr. Abhay Jere is appointed for a term of three years or till he attains the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Dr. Abhay Jere is instrumental in building a network of innovation councils. Through the Ministry of Education, the Innovation Council of India (IIC) is now present in 6500 educational institutions, facilitating the creation of a local innovation ecosystem in these institutions by creating their own startups in the course of research.
Recently, he has also been instrumental in designing a unique MBA program in ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Dr. Jere is committed to raising awareness about the need for innovation and entrepreneurship among Indians and is a regular columnist in renowned English and vernacular newspapers. He also produced the ‘India First Leadership’ talk series, which will be aired on Lok Sabha TV.
