Abhijeet Bhattacharya Gets Legal Notice After he Calls Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi ‘Father Of Pakistan’

Although the singer clarified that Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the existence of Pakistan and hence he gave it this title, people did not like it.

Renowned singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has been in the news for quite some time now. First his controversy with Shah Rukh Khan made headlines and now his statement has created controversy in which he called Mahatma Gandhi the ‘father of Pakistan’. Although the singer clarified that Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the existence of Pakistan and hence he gave it this title, people did not like it.

What Abhijeet Bhattacharya Said:

The Fresh Press Journal reports that a renowned singer from the 1990s stated, “Music composer RD Burman was greater than Mahatma Gandhi.” Just like Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation in the world of music.”

Abhijeet Bhattacharya further said, “Mahatma Gandhi was the father of Pakistan, not India. India already existed, Pakistan separated from India later. Gandhi has been wrongly called the father of India. He was responsible for the existence of Pakistan.”

As per a News18 report, following this statement, Pune-based lawyer Asim Sarode has sent a legal notice to the singer. The lawyer has sought a written apology from Abhijeet Bhattacharya. His notice warns of criminal prosecution against the singer. It goes without saying that when one takes the name of a national hero like Mahatma Gandhi, one must be very careful about what they say. There will always be a section that may not agree with Mahatma Gandhi’s decisions or policies, but he is treated with utmost love and respect in the nation.

As far as his view on the India-Pakistan partition is concerned, according to his legal notice, he said, ‘Accepting partition will be over my dead body. As long as I am alive, I will never agree to the partition of India’,”
