NEET 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the date for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 examination shortly. In the previous year, the exam date was announced in September; however, this year, it has yet to be announced as of the first week of December, causing concern among candidates.
Based on the previous trend, there is speculation that the NEET 2025 examination will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM, both in India and abroad.
Due to the massive controversy surrounding the only undergraduate medical entrance exam in India, the NTA has formed an expert committee headed by former ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan.
The expert committee headed by former ISRO chairman has made several recommendations to make NEET 2025 exam fair and more transparent. Therefore, it is expected that major changes will be made in this year’s NEET exam.
According to recent media reports, the NEET 2025 examination is expected to be conducted in a computer-based format (CBT) to avoid issues such as paper leaks or the incorrect distribution of question paper sets or formats.
However, an official confirmation from the NTA and the Ministry of Education is still pending. Let us examine the expected changes for the NEET 2025 examination.
Here we have come up with a list of expected changes in the NEET Exam based on the recommendations of the NTA Expert Committee:
Exam to be conducted in computer-based mode: The major change that is likely to happen in NEET is the change in the mode of the exam from offline to online. Since the beginning, NEET is conducted in the traditional paper-pencil based mode (PBT). Based on the recent scenarios, it is likely that the exam mode may be changed to CBT mode.
