JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility: How Many Marks are Required to Qualify?

JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility: The Joint Entrance Examinations Advanced (JEE Advanced) is the gateway for entry into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the dream destination for lakhs of students. To be eligible for JEE Advanced, students must first successfully clear the JEE Main exam. An important requirement for this eligibility is that candidates must rank in the top 250,000 in the JEE Main results. This ranking is determined on the basis of various categories including General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS and PWD.

JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility:

These ranks are distributed proportionately among these categories so that each category gets proper representation, and candidates must also fulfil other eligibility criteria related to their academic and age to appear in JEE Advanced. The eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced are as follows:

1. JEE Main Cutoff for JEE Advanced

You must be among the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main, with category-wise distribution:

2. Eligibility for JEE Advanced:
Age Limit: Candidates should be 25 years of age or less as on 1st October of the year. However, there is a relaxation of 5 years for SC, ST and PWD candidates.

3. Educational Qualification:

The candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination within 2 years from the date of JEE Advanced (in the same year or the year before). The minimum aggregate percentage is 75% for general candidates and 65% for SC, ST and PWD candidates. However, candidates who have appeared in class 12th or equivalent examination in the current year and their result is awaited can also apply.

4. Number of Attempts:

A candidate can appear for JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in consecutive years. There is relaxation for reserved candidates
