University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar today launched the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) of Indira Gandhi National University (IGNOU).
An IGNOU statement issued in this regard said that FYUP, which is considered a significant reform in Indian higher education, seeks to provide diverse opportunities to students for enrolment.
Be it pursuing these courses as part of a regular program or opting for a UG degree simultaneously in a different subject, IGNOU’s FYUP offers myriad possibilities for students.
Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUG) programs launched include:
A) Bachelor of Commerce (BCOMF), Bachelor of Social Work,
B) Bachelor of Arts (Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Facilities and Services, Philosophy, Journalism and Digital Media)
Saying that FYUP is a necessary reform in Indian higher education and students across the country will get the opportunity to enroll in IGNOU’s FYUP, the UGC Chairman said in a social media post: IGNOU offers a diverse selection of courses that can be easily accessed through its dedicated platform.
Whether a student wants to take these courses as a part of their regular program or pursue a UG degree simultaneously in a subject different from their primary discipline, opportunities for students abound.’
FYUP at IGNOU was launched in the presence of UGC Chairman as the Chief Guest during the National Seminar on G20 Presidency and India’s Global Leadership Role. This initiative has been implemented as per the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
