NIRF University Rankings 2025: On Thursday, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) published the higher education rankings, in which three universities from the capital achieved positions within the top five. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) maintained their rankings at first and second, respectively, while Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) fell one position to fourth. Additionally, Delhi University (DU) moved up from sixth to fifth place this year, and Manipal Academy improved from fourth to third.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework 2025 (NIRF 2025) released by the Ministry of Education was based on criteria such as teaching and learning resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusiveness, and perception. This year, the institutions were ranked in 17 categories, including Engineering, Medical, Management, etc. Here are the top 10 universities in India as per the NIRF Ranking 2025.

This year, BITS Pilani has secured the 7th rank in the NIRF 2025 NIRF University Rankings 2025; however, Vellore Institute of Technology, which was ranked 10th last year, failed to make it to the top 10.
