Minimum Qualifying Percentage for NEETPG 2024 Reduced Again

The qualifying percentage for NEETPG 2024 has been reduced to fifth percentile across all categories.

NEETPG 2024: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has again reduced the qualifying percentage for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. The qualifying percentage for NEETPG 2024 has been reduced to fifth percentile across all categories.

The MCC statement issued in this regard said: “In continuation of the notice of NBEMS dated 06.01.2025 and as per the instructions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, vide its letter No. U. 12021/05/2024-MEC dated 20 February 2025, the minimum qualifying percentage for NEETPG 2024 has been reduced as follows”

The minimum qualifying percentile for General/EWS, UR-PwBD and SC/ST/OBC (including PwBD of SC/ST/OBC) candidates is the 5th percentile. However, NBEMS said that there is no change in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate PG 2024 rank and percentile score published on August 23, 2024.

Earlier this year, the MNC had lowered the cut-off for all categories. General and EWS category students scoring 15 percentile and above became eligible to participate in counselling. The revised cut-off required to become eligible for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate PG counselling announced in January rose to 10 percentile and above for students from SC, ST, OBC and PWD categories.

The qualifying percentile for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate PG examination was reduced to zero for all categories last year. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate PG cut-off for general category candidates was reduced from the 50th percentile to the 35th percentile in 2022. The cut-off for unreserved PWD candidates was reduced from the 45th percentile to the 20th percentile and the cut-off for SC, ST, and OBC (including PWDs of SC, ST, OBC) students was reduced from the 40th percentile to the 20th percentile.
