Jawaharlal Nehru University to admit through CUET from 2022-23; other central universities in line.

Delhi University has already agreed for CUET and said that they will conduct undergraduate admission through CUET from 2022-23.

In a new development, the Jawaharlal Nehru University administration on Wednesday decided that it will conduct admissions to its various programs through the Common University Entrance Test from 2022-2023. This decision has come after the meeting of the Academic Council.

Issuing a notice regarding the same, Director of Admissions Jayant Tripathi said that the proposal to adopt CUET was highly supported in the meeting.

“During the deliberations in the Academic Council, a large number of members including Deans of Schools, Center Presidents and external members of the Council emphasized that CUET will provide a level playing field to many deserving students across the country thereby reducing the burden. Will be giving many entrance exams,” the note read.

National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the CUET. Discussions have also taken place to extend this entrance test criterion to all central universities. Delhi University has already agreed for CUET and said that they will conduct undergraduate admission through it from 2022-23 sessions.

 “In fact, since 2019, Jawaharlal Nehru University has been successfully conducting JNU entrance examinations in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at various centers in the country to admit students to various programs of study in collaboration with NTA,” notes stated in.
