Online Digital Course: IIM Bangalore recently introduced a new course on New Age Business Models through its digital learning platform, IIMBx. The program is a six-week online course available on SWAYAM, the online learning platform of the Ministry of Education.
According to IIM-B, the course is free of cost and designed for everyone –undergraduates, postgraduate students of business management, working professionals, budding entrepreneurs and business owners.
The online digital course has been designed by Professor K Ganesh, adjunct faculty at IIM-B and an experienced entrepreneur.
This includes emerging new business models including platforms, marketplaces, aggregators, direct-to-consumer businesses. There are lectures from industry leaders like Shekhar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm; Ananth Narayan, CEO and Founder, Mensa Brands; Arun Narayan, Vice President, Tanishq; and Vikram Vaidyanathan, Managing Partner, Matrix Partners, among others.
The pedagogy is a combination of video lectures, case studies, quizzes, self-assessment and discussion forums and will help learners understand the nuances about business models, and how new-age companies operate and succeed.
What is SWAYAM?
SWAYAM is a free online education program launched by the Government of India. SWAYAM is the Government of India’s own Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) platform, which has been offering online courses in subjects like science, engineering and technology, humanities and social sciences, law, management etc.
