Happy Independence Day 2024: India is all set to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on 15th August, India celebrates its Independence Day on the 15th of August every year. After a long struggle of almost two centuries of British rule, the country achieved independence from colonial rule on August 15, 1947.
India became independent on 15 August 1947. After a tough struggle we got independence from the British Raj. On this day at midnight our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the national flag for the first time at the Red Fort. This marked the end of the 200-year-old British rule in India. We now breathe a free and sovereign nation.
Independence Day reminds us of all the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters to liberate India from British rule. On 15 August 1947, India was declared free from British imperialism and turned into the world’s largest democracy, with a vote-based system.
On this special occasion, the people of India remember the selfless sacrifices and unparalleled contributions of great men and women to achieve India’s independence. Everyone in the country pays respectful tribute to leaders like Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Sardar Patel and Gopalbandhu Das.
“Wishing you a Happy Independence Day 2024! May the tricolor always fly high and may our nation prosper.”
