Germany Launches Global Online Visa Portal to Tackle Skilled Worker Shortage

The foreign Minister of Germany Annalena Baerbock recently took some measures to encourage German Companies to invite Skilled Labour from around the World

Germany Launches Global Online Visa Portal: Germany is facing a huge shortage of Skilled Labour, compared to the 40,000 skilled workers it needs every year. German Companies need Skilled Workers, including Nurses, Social workers and social pedagogies, Childcare, and education, Geriatric care, Building electrics, Health care and nursing, Sanitation, heating and air conditioning technology, IT (information technology), and Physical therapy.

The foreign Minister of Germany Annalena Baerbock recently took some measures to encourage German Companies to invite Skilled Labour from around the World and came up with an online Portal for Visa Services to tackle the skilled Workers shortage looking at the paperwork system of Germany which is very laid back. This is the second measure Germany took after the PM Modi and Olaf Scholz Pact for visas from 20,000 to 90,000 visas in a year.

Germany faces an annual shortfall of at least 40,000 skilled workers, according to Baerbock.

This is good news for students who dream of going to Germany to live, study, and work in various Vocational Training Programmes. The new online Visa portal became operational from January 1, 2024, for all German visa offices worldwide.
