DeepMind CEO Warn That AI will Impact Employment Within Five Years, Encouraging Teenagers to Start Preparing Immediately.

During an appearance on the famous technology podcast "Hard Fork", Hassabis urged teenagers to connect directly with artificial intelligence, describing it as the key technological influence of their generation.

As the world moves into an AI-driven future, Demis Hassabis, the CEO of Google DeepMind, delivers a straightforward message to young people: begin learning now or risk being left behind. Hassabis heads Google DeepMind, the cutting-edge research facility responsible for the company’s most notable AI innovations, such as the Gemini chatbot.

The laboratory is also leading Google’s initiatives aimed at realizing Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) – a currently elusive type of AI that can perform reasoning at a human level. During the recent Google I/O developer conference, Hassabis indicated that DeepMind is probably less than ten years from developing AGI. Given his position in this field, he undoubtedly has insights into the shape AI will assume in the near future.

DeepMind CEO: Urged Teenagers

During an appearance on the famous technology podcast “Hard Fork“, Hassabis urged teenagers to connect directly with artificial intelligence, describing it as the key technological influence of their generation. “Just as the Internet influenced Millennials and smartphones characterized Gen Z, generative AI represents the hallmark of Gen Alpha,” he commented.

“In the coming 5 to 10 years, I believe we will see the typical consequences associated with significant technological advancements, which means that some jobs will be affected. However, this will also lead to the creation of new, more valuable and generally more lucrative job opportunities.”
