CUET UG Exam 2023: 13.995 Lakh Students Have Submitted the Application Form; DU and BHU Remain the Top Choices.

According to NTA, the exam conducting body, there has been an increase of 4 lakh in registration from the first edition of CUET in 2022.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has registered a total of 16.85 lakh students for the CUET UG Exam 2023. Out of these 13.995 lakh students have paid the application fee and submitted the form. According to NTA, the exam conducting body, there has been an increase of 4 lakh in registration from the first edition of CUET in 2022.

This year there has been an increase of almost 50 percent in the number of female students while the number of male students has seen an increase of 34 percent. Out of 13.99 lakh students, 6.51 lakh are female students and 7.48 lakh are male students. Last year, around 4.34 lakh students who applied were females and 5.56  lakh students were males.

UGC Chairman, M Jagadesh Kumar said, “We have also seen an increase in the number of participating universities. In 2022, it was 90, but it will increase to 242 in 2023. This significant growth indicates that CUET UG Exam is becoming a popular option for admission to UG programmes.”

CUET UG Exam 2023 score is not only used for admission to BA, BCom and BSC courses but also for admission to other programs like Integrated Dual Degree BBA LLB, BVoc, BDes, BArch, BCA, and others. CUET UG score is also being used by various colleges/universities for admission in engineering subjects. It is also used for lateral entry of Diploma holders in the second year of B.Tech course.

Among central universities, the maximum number of applications have been received by Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Allahabad University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University and Jamia Millia Islamia University.

Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are the top states in terms of registration. Last year also these three states topped the charts with maximum number of applications. Student enrollment from Jammu and Kashmir is projected to increase by 6.3 times from 13,021 in 2022 to 82,655 in 2023.

This year, students from 74 countries submitted their application form for CUET UG Exam 2023. Students have registered from all over Asia, Europe, America and Gulf countries.
