CBSE has Invited Application for Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023 and the Renewal Portal is Also Open.

Eligible students, including NRI applicants studying in CBSE affiliated schools, can apply online from September 19 to October 18, 2023.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited application from eligible students for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023 Scheme. The board has additionally opened the renewal portal for the candidates who were awarded the Single Girl Child Scholarship in 2022.

Eligible students, including NRI applicants studying in CBSE affiliated schools, can apply online from September 19 to October 18, 2023. The last date for submission of online applications is October 18, 2023.

Under this scholarship, eligible students will be given ₹500. The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum period of two years. The scholarship will be available only to Indian citizens.

 “All single girl students who have secured 60% or more marks in CBSE Class X examination and are studying in class XI and XII in a school (affiliated to CBSE) whose tuition fees does not exceed ₹1,500/- per month. During the academic year, consideration for the scholarship will be given. Over the next two years, the total increase in tuition fees in such school will not exceed 10% of the tuition fees charged”, the official statement said.

Selection Process for Scholarship:

A) Students must have passed class 10th examination from CBSE and scored 60% or more marks.

B) For renewal, students must have received CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship in the previous year and must be a CBSE student in class XI in the previous year and must have obtained 50% or more marks in class XI and have been promoted to class XII.

C) Candidates should have studied class XI and XII from CBSE affiliated schools.

D) Tuition fees in class X should not exceed ₹1,500 per month and there should be a 10% increase for classes XI and XII.

CBSE affiliated schools will verify the applications in continuation of the scholarship program started in 2006. CBSE will not consider any offline application or hard copy of documents.
