Basic Education Council Schools of UP have Enrolled 60 Lakh New Students in the last six years: CM

Adityanath made this statement while interacting with schoolchildren during the popular annual 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Basic Education Council: On Friday, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, praised the initiative known as “Operation Kayakalp,” which was designed to improve the appearance of government schools. He also stated that nearly 60 lakh new students were admitted to Basic Education Council schools over the course of six years.

Adityanath made this statement while interacting with schoolchildren during the popular annual ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that prior to 2017, children were required to attend school barefoot, but now they are allowed to wear proper uniforms and bring school bags.

Under the UP Free School Uniform Scheme, the state government of Uttar Pradesh has initiated a direct bank transfer (DBT) process to send Rs 1,200 to the parents of 1.91 crore children. This money will allow the parents to purchase school uniforms, sweaters, shoes, socks, school bags, and stationery items for their children.

According to a statement that was released by the state administration, novel efforts such as the “Skill India Mission” would lend momentum to the campaign that is intended to bring about a further shift in the way that education is handled in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Along with kids, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh attended the event that was broadcast from the Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey UP Sainik School in Lucknow.

In his speech to the parents of students who were going to take the board examinations for Classes 10 and 12, he advised the parents that they should not put undue pressure on their children to get good scores on the exams because this could have a negative effect on the youngsters.

“Students should not be put under any pressure to earn higher results; nonetheless, they should be encouraged to engage in healthy competition.” The chief minister made the observation that “oftentimes due to the tension that arises out of the strain, children are unable to perform well in examinations.”

During the event, he also recognised outstanding pupils with awards. Students from a variety of secondary boards across India each received a cash prize of one lakh rupees (about $1,698), a tablet computer, a citation, and a copy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s book “Exam Warriors.”

Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, according to Adityanath, the state government is devoting extra resources to the education of young women as part of an effort to promote gender equality.
