Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Tuesday launched BTR chief Pramod Boro’s initiative ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’ to prepare Bodo youth for competitive examinations.
The project of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Administration aims to transform the lives of engineering aspirants hailing from the economically weaker sections of five Bodo-dominated districts of Assam, an official statement said.
This initiative is similar to some of the famous examples of enhancing the achievements of students in Bihar like Anand Kumar-Super 30, Oil India Super 30, ONGC Super 30 and Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS).
Addressing the function, the Assam Governor expressed happiness at the launch of the “Most Important” programme.
“If we have to think about the development of Bodoland, we have to be self-reliant,” he said.
Boro thanked the Governor for visiting BTR and starting the programme.

Bodoland Super 50 Mission is also planning to provide 11 months high quality free residential coaching and mentoring program to the students of BTR who are aspiring to get admission in IITs, NITs and top engineering institutes.
Each year 50 candidates (10 from each district of Baksa, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur and Udalguri) will be shortlisted through an entrance test, the statement said.
The BTR is an elected autonomous body created under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution for the Bodo-dominated areas of Assam.
