DU Delhi Said Students who Have not Studied Mathematics in Class 12 can opt for B.Com (Hons)

Delhi University, Delhi (DU Delhi) on Saturday announced that students who have not studied mathematics in Class 12 can now take admission to the B.Com (Hons) programme for the 2025-26 academic year under the second subject combination category. The information bulletin for admission to DU undergraduate (UG) programmes was released on the varsity website late night. The university has been offering a two-combination subject system for several of its undergraduate programmes since 2022, when DU adopted the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) to admit students to undergraduate courses.

In the commerce programme, the initial combination requires choosing a language from List A as well as Mathematics or Applied Mathematics and any two subjects from List B. The second combination, which remains unchanged, includes a language from List A, Accountancy or Bookkeeping, and any two subjects from List B.

Students applying for language-based programmes also have more flexibility. As there has been a major change in the eligibility criteria for some BA (Hons) courses. Candidates now able to choose two languages instead of one from List A and three domain subjects as part of their subject combination.

As per the general programme eligibility, students must have passed Class 12 examination or its equivalent from a recognised board for admission to 78 undergraduate (UG) courses across various disciplines – Arts, Commerce, Science, Technology, Management, Business studies and Fine Arts – the information bulletin said.

Admission to all undergraduate programmes, except in the case of School of Open Learning (SOL), Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board and foreign nationals, will be based on CUET-UG scores. DU Delhi follows the combinations in such a way that the domain subjects align at least 50% with the subjects the student has studied in Class 12.
