Covid-19 vaccine; Over 40 lakh teens received their first dose of on the first day of the vaccination campaign for 15-18 year age.

Over 40 lakh children in the age group of 15 to 18 years across India were vaccinated till 8 pm on Monday, the first day of the vaccination campaign.

According to data shared by the CoWIN portal, over 40 lakh children in the age group of 15 to 18 were given the Covid-19 vaccine till 8 pm on the first day of the vaccination campaign on Monday.

While more than 39.88 lakh beneficiaries in the age group of 15 to 18 years had registered on the CoWIN portal till Monday afternoon. The process of vaccinating children began amid concerns about the increasing number of Omicron type cases.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote on Twitter, “Well done Young India! Over 40 lakh people in the age group 15-18 received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine till 8 PM on the first day of the Children’s Immunization Campaign. This is Another feather in the cap of India’s vaccination campaign.”

On Sunday, the health minister advised states and union territories (UTs) to ensure separate vaccination centres, session venues and queues and separate vaccination teams to avoid mixing.

DELHI VACCINATES 20998 Covid-19 vaccine TEENS IN 15-18 AGE BRACKET:

In Delhi, as many as 20,998 children aged between 15 to 18 years were vaccinated till 6 pm. With 3,687 vaccinations, North East Delhi registered the maximum number, while the lowest vaccination was in Central Delhi with 739.

PUNJAB AND CHANDIGARH VACCINATE 3071 AND 1826 TEENS IN 15-18 AGE BRACKET:

In Punjab 3,071 children between 15 years to 18 years were jabbed. In Chandigarh, a total of 1,826 Covaxin doses were given at 10 centres across the city. The administrator appreciated the efforts of the health department for carrying out the vaccination drive in the city.

KERALA VACCINATES 38,417 TEENS IN 15-18 AGE BRACKET:

In Kerala, around 38,417 children were vaccinated on the first day of the inoculation drive. Thiruvananthapuram topped the list with 9,338 children vaccinated in the district on Monday. Kollam followed by vaccinating 6,868 children, closely followed by Thrissur (5018). There were a total of 551 vaccination centres for children.
